Real Women Making a Real Impact

Real Women Making a Real Impact

International Women’s Day

Today we have an opportunity to pause and celebrate women around the world. For more than 100 years, March 8, International Women’s Day, has been a global event celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. We’ve made great strides in the fight for equality, with hard-fought battles throughout history. Women and men have protested, marched, and made their voices heard in courtrooms, voting booths, and the halls of government. With a century of progress, there is still much more work to do. Women make invaluable contributions in every corner of society, yet even today that impact often lands in an unequal environment. This must change.

Women in the workplace

Since we founded Bridge Partners in 2007, gender parity has been a cornerstone of our culture. From consultants to partners, women are thriving at every level of our firm. Women are underrepresented in companies across America, particularly in the consulting industry. That’s why we’re proud that women make up a majority of our workforce.

We’re privileged to lead the way: 54 percent of our employees are women

Unfortunately, this is not the case across corporate America. Women are still underrepresented at every level of the talent pipeline. From entry level to the C-suite, women are routinely overlooked for promotions. Corporate America promotes men at 30 percent higher rates than women during their early career stages, and entry-level women are significantly more likely than men to have spent five or more years in the same role. At Bridge Partners, we’re actively seeking to break these barriers and build a business on merit and customer value, not gender.

Be bold for change

To achieve gender parity in corporate America, we believe we must lead by example. Together, men and women need to be vocal advocates for empowerment, opportunity, and inclusion. To be competitive, organizations must attract, develop, engage, and retain female talent. Companies have an important role to play in reaching gender equality, and at Bridge, we rely on four principles to foster an environment that promotes and encourages gender parity and inclusion:

  • Celebrate the contributions of women at every level of our organization
  • Ensure that hires, promotions, and performance reviews are fair and transparent
  • Provide equal access to leadership
  • Promote a workplace culture that values authenticity and flexibility

Doing the right thing is just good for business. A fairer, more inclusive work environment will lead to greater employee engagement, workforce diversity, and organizational productivity. As our fight for equality continues, Bridge Partners is proud to lead the way. Please join us!

I’m joining Bridge Partners to #BeBoldForChange and challenge gender bias and inequality in the workplace.
